The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) has launched a new grant program, due to Eliminating Barriers and Employment Success,
to enhance access to work by helping Michigan overcome obstacles.
Starting Monday, May 22, the program invites organizations able to assist individuals in their journey toward economic empowerment to
apply for a share of the $14.6 million in funding.
Investing in barrier removal and employment success is a critical endeavor in promoting equity and inclusion throughout the state of Michigan.
Even though, LEO Director Susan Corbin highlights the importance of this funding, saying, “By removing barriers to employment,
we are expanding opportunities for all Michiganders to thrive in well-paying jobs, while also addressing the talent gaps employers across
the state face at the same time.”
