Oscar 2023, the multiverse heroes from Everything Everywhere All at Once, the year’s most nominated film, gathered at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood alongside Na’vi aliens, estranged Irish companions, soldiers from the First World War, a new class of Top Gun graduates, Lydia Tár and the King of Rock and Roll, and more. The ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and everything from Best Picture to statuettes for all 23 categories was given to Everything Everywhere All at Once
We would like to dedicate this to the mothers. Daniel Kwan dedicated the Oscar to “my immigrant parents — my father who fell in love with movies because he needed to escape the world and, thus, Daniel Kwan also paid tribute to “all the mommies in the world.” And] my mother, who has a creative spirit and wanted to be a dancer, actor, and singer but couldn’t afford it, gave it to me.”
Seven Oscars went to Everything Everywhere All at Once; also for Best Film Editing, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Original Screenplay. Germany took home four awards, including Best International Feature Film for All Quiet on the Western Front.
