Jessa Duggar And Ben Seewald are the proud parents of a new baby!
Jessa announced the birth of baby No. 5 in an Instagram post on Saturday and then directed her followers to her YouTube channel for the full birth story. Before giving birth on December 19, shortly before 4 a.m., Jessa said she had a feeling that “this is going to be a really big baby, and I've been saying that for a while.”
She estimated in the 9 pound range.
On December 18, Jessa said she woke up and felt her first “real contraction.” And she and her husband headed to the hospital. Once there, Jessa shared that she needed help from her midwife with birth positions to help rotate the baby. She said her midwife helped her for three or four hours.
Then, after 21 hours of labor, Jessa gave birth to a baby boy around 3:24 am.
“It was the sweetest moment when they picked up the baby, put him on top of me and held him there,” she said. “I think there were so many emotions in that moment. So many things that you're processing. It's been a year since we lost our last baby, just an avalanche of emotions.”
Then it was time to weigh the baby and Jessa did it: 9 pounds, 14 ounces.
The 10-minute video, which does not reveal the baby's name, ends with the new baby's siblings running into the hospital room to meet him for the first time.
It was in September when the former Counting on The star and Ben revealed they were welcoming their fifth child, seven months after they revealed they suffered a pregnancy loss.
“After a heartbreaking loss last year, we are so grateful that God blessed us with a rainbow baby,” the former reality TV star said. wrote about a screenshot from the YouTube video titled “A baby on the way and a romantic getaway.”
“After the heartbreaking loss of our baby last year, last week we found out wonderful news that our rainbow baby is on the way, and we couldn't be more excited,” Jessa said as the video and a positive pregnancy test begin. On the screen she appears sitting at the counter.
The latest addition to the Seewald family joins siblings Spurgeon Elliott, Henry Wilberforce, Ivy Jane and Fern Elliana.
