Jessa Duggar has given fans an update on her newborn baby.
And it is extremely precious!
As previously reported, the Counting On alum welcomed her fifth child into the world on December 19, and dropped the adorable bombshell via a YouTube video a couple of days ago.
At that time we only knew that Jessa had given birth to a boy.
Now, however, courtesy of other In the YouTube video posted on Sunday by Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, we can confirm the following:
The boy's name is George Augustine.
“Throughout the entire pregnancy, Ben and I kept the sex of the baby a secret, so today the kids are coming to the hospital and meeting their little brother for the first time and finding out the sex of the baby,” Jessa said in this new footage.
The video then shows daughters Ivy, four, and Fern, two, along with sons Henry, 6, and Spurgeon, 9, arriving at the hospital to learn they now have a brother.
“Everyone was expecting a boy!” Jessa wrote in a text caption over the clip.
Fern ends up crawling into bed next to her mother and brother, hoping to be the first to hug little George.
“Just when you think your heart can't be any fuller as a parent, you see your older children loving the newborn baby and your heart just swells with excitement,” Jessa says in voiceover.
“It's the sweetest thing to witness.”
The video is available on Duggar and Seewald's official YouTube page.
It also captures images of the parents bringing George home from the hospital, along with a huge amount of bonding between immediate family members.
Duggar and Seewald announced this pregnancy in September.
The confirmation of a bun in the Duggar oven came as a surprise to fans… because Jessa had shared the tragic news of a miscarriage just a few months earlier.
“We were sitting holding hands and crying, like, 'What do we do from now on?'” Jessa said in February of her and her husband's devastated reactions to this immense loss.
“I feel like, in some ways, miscarriages can be very jarring because there are no clear signs that anything is wrong.
“I had minimal bleeding for 24 hours and that was it.”
Very sad. And yet, now the family is very happy.
In her original video announcing the arrival of baby number five, Jessa said she was in labor for 21 hours.
“The sweetest moment (was) when they picked up the baby and put him on top of me,” he added.
“Just holding it there, I think there were so many emotions in that moment (and) so many things that you're processing.
“It's been a year since we lost our last baby and it's been an avalanche of emotions.”
