As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rush toward a new beginning in Los Angeles, many eyes are on her acting career.
After all, as the success of this summer's Suits reminded the world, she was an actress long before she was a duchess.
Meghan is now back in front of a camera, and not as herself.
However, it is not the acting return that many of his fans had imagined. Have a look:
Clevr has a promotional video now available on Instagram.
While it's never going to be the most iconic coffee ad for this time of year (Folgers nailed it over a decade ago), it's cute and has a very cozy feel.
Some marketing has less to do with the product and more to do with a seemingly random participant in the ad.
“Damn, you're keeping us BUSY right now! Had to call for some backup,” Clevr’s Instagram account joked in the caption.
The video itself is a tour of his supposed day to day life.
Except Meghan Markle takes on multiple roles. The ad does not name her, but she appears in several shots.
First, we see the Duchess of Sussex doing the paperwork to be part of the compliance team. That is to say, she is packing boxes.
The spotlight is on Clevr co-founder Hannah Mendoza, who explains to viewers how things work at “Clevr HQ.”
Then, Meghan appears again very clearly. This time, she takes on the role as part of the company's digital department. Quite a scholar, that Meghan Markle.
And then we see her again, apparently acting like a friendly colleague… or maybe even an intern.
First, Meghan hands the co-founder a cup of coffee.
He then tries, unsuccessfully, to punch a co-worker as he leaves with a box of coffee. Our guess? This would have been discarded, but it was so cute and genuine that they chose to keep it.
Now, a lot of people are wondering what the hell he's doing there. This is a random coffee commercial for a coffee commercial and it doesn't feature her center stage.
Well, Meghan has been a fan of Clevr since 2016, when the company launched. (We're not sure why they didn't start listening to Britney on loop until 2019…some of us have been doing it for decades)
Meghan also invested in the latte company in December 2020. Notably, this was after she and Harry stepped away from the royal firm to live their own lives. So Meghan is simply supporting a company by quietly giving them extra attention, and it's working.
