'The Voice' winner Huntley shares his gratitude to coach Niall Horan

The voice has crowned his season 24 championand hunley Could not be happier!

“Honestly, I was really surprised,” the rocker and father of two told ET's Deidre Behar after his big win. “Ruby (Leigh) is very talented and I think she's a force to be reckoned with, so the fact that it was the two of us there, it was right… She's super talented and when they called my name, I really didn't. I could believe”.

The 33-year-old Virginia native was the last man standing. The voices top 5 for his season, and was effusive about the support he has received all season from his coach, Niall Horan — who became a back-to-back winner Tuesday in just his second season coaching the singing competition.

“Every time I feel like I'm too busy or complaining about this process, I think back and think this guy is literally flying around the world and still emailing me,” he enthused. “He's very good, I respect him a lot.”

As for his plans after the show, Huntley said he hopes to have some downtime over the holidays before continuing his rise to music stardom.

“I think my main concern is to take a step back and just breathe and really take it all in,” she shared. “This experience has taken me half a year. I've spent six months away from my children; my son now speaks in complete sentences. It's crazy.”

“But it's all been worth it,” Huntley continued. “I just want my career. I'm so hungry for this… John (Legend) said he can see me singing in stadiums all over the world and that's something I'm really hungry for. They're not going to get rid of that. my!”

As for his coach, Niall said he's happy he put everything he has into fostering great relationships with his team members and supporting their musical dreams.

“When I took this job, I told myself that no matter how busy I was at my day job, I was going to commit 100 percent,” he shared. “I've been on a program like this and I know what it's like to have a strong mentor… Maybe that's the secret sauce, I don't know.”

In the new year, the former One Direction singer hopes to begin his world tour in support of his 2023 album. The show, and told fans that he's excited for them to see what he has in store.

“I'll be playing in huge arenas and amphitheaters all over the world, and with that I'm trying to make the biggest show and the show I always wanted to make,” he said. “I'm excited to take a break for a few weeks, get home, relax, enjoy Christmas and get back into the routine. Here we go again, I can't wait!”

The voice returns for season 25 in February 2024.
